The 3M Aura 1870+ is a disposable, fluid-resistant respirator and surgical mask that's designed to protect healthcare workers from airborne particles. It's intended to reduce exposure to particles that are less than 100 microns in size, including those that may contain biological material like bacteria, mold, and viruses. The 1870+ can also help protect against particles generated by medical instruments like electrocautery and lasers. The 1870+ is designed for use in a variety of settings, including operating rooms, clinics, labor and delivery, and emergency preparedness. It meets CDC guidelines for exposure control to M. tuberculosis and has a fit test pass rate of up to 93% across a range of face sizes and shapes. The 1870+ comes individually packaged in a flat fold design for convenient storage. To put it on, remove it from the packaging and hold it with the straps facing up. Then, place the bottom strap under your chin, fully open the top and bottom panels, and bend the nose piece around your thumb. Finally, place the respirator on your face so that the foam rests on your nose and the bottom panel sits under your chin. When you're done using the 1870+, you should perform hand hygiene and avoid touching the front of the respirator. Then, remove the bottom strap by touching only the strap and carefully bringing it over your head. Repeat with the top strap, then carefully move the respirator away from your face and throw it away
